I wrote the paragraph below about used cars several years ago - and wow did the market flip a 180 soon after. There is a massive shortage in used cars right now, and as we all know when the scales of supply and demand swings to a supply shortage an instant demand is created and naturally product prices go up. I have a family member and several friends in the auto market and they are telling me its very difficult to get good used cars at market due to the low supply. How many good used cars were destroyed in the "Cash for Clunkers" scheme? Now middle class Americans are paying higher prices for used cars, and lower middle and lower class Americans are finding it very difficult to get a reliable car for reasonable money. I'll make this side note into a post and anyone can argue about the definition of reliable and or reasonable.
