As you may have noticed by this blog, I have owned many Z cars. I have had 2 300 Z’s and the blue ‘84 I had needed a refurbished computer/control module. The “computer” for the car’s center console controls – at least that’s all I know about what functions it serves. I remember (this is a long time ago… 10 or more years) when I had this car that I could reach under the dash and make a slight push on the module and everything would come back on in the center console.
Not being an electrician, and barely calling myself a DIY mechanic, it needed to go out and be refurbished. Just as I was about to do this a friend of mine sold me his ‘84 2+2 for parts, I swapped out the module and it worked. So that leaves me with one dusty computer module in my garage. I don’t know how much these go for these days, but if you want/need one give me a holler – I’ll be glad to sell it very cheap. If this was for any other car, chances are that I would throw this away - but being a former Z owner I know there are lots of guys/gals out there who are keeping these cool cars on the road.
